Hey Nevada, did you ever work with this guy, Craig Strohm?

http://www.theunion.com/article/2005...02/0/FRONTPAGE

He worked as a ref last year after coaching high school for 20 years, and is now coaching at the MS level.

His explanation for going back to coaching, "Even losing is more fun than refereeing."

Nevada Union is in California

Jimgolf. NU is about an hour outside of Sacramento in the Sierra foothills. Nevada Ref is in the Reno area. Two seperate officiating Assoc. In Sac area 1st year refs generally work with other newbys or less experienced refs for their first 5 years or so.

NU does send alot of football players to D1 schools. They also play in the Metro conference in Sac. Enough of my NU informurcal (sp)

As ChessRef wrote NU is quite a ways in CA and is serviced by CA refs (unlike the Lake Tahoe schools which do play in the NV league), so I wouldn't have seen this guy ref.

However, I do know Craig from his coaching. I've had a few Nevada Union games when they came over here to play the local schools. He did a fantastic job with the HS varsity team. They pushed the ball, played pressure defense, and shot a ton of 3s. The games were fun to officiate.

I wish him well.
