"It is not legal to use hands on an opponent which in any way inhibits the freedom of movement of an opponent or acts as an aid to a player in stopping and starting."
I am a little fuzzed out by the 'or' part. Yuh wouldn't want to be 'aiding' your opponent, right? So does 'player' now mean teammate? As in your teammate is hurtling out of bounds and you graciously grab her/him?

dots and dashes
Exactly right, Jeff, and perhaps you haven't heard this from anyone on the forum yet, so I'm letting you know that we cite rules with dashes (4-24-5), while saving the dots for the case book plays (4.23.2), since that is the way the NFHS does it in their books. |
