Question

Silly question here, but:

How do you guys wash your referee shirts to keep them from shrinking? Do they shrink, or am I just gaining weight? Considering buying new shirts for next year and would like to know how to wash them to have them keep their original size.

Pleae specify shirt type: microsofter or polyester.

Thanks.
Joe

I don't think normal referee shirts (ie. Honig's v-neck) shrink.

I've had a Honig's shirt for six years, and it still looks the same as it did the day I bought it.

Step on the scale lately?

I cannot think of any shirt that I have that has ever shrunk. I primarily only use polyester shirts and they do not shrink. I think it is you that is not shrinking. BTW, I use the same shirts for both football and basketball (material).

Peace

Cotton shrinks in the dryer, polyester expands.

That said, I let my uni's hang to dry.

I always hang my shirts to dry. Never know if they'll shrink or not. I had one before that shrunk (not sure of the fabric) and since then I never put them in the dryer again.

Simple solution then......

Put your wet cotton shirt over top of your wet polyester shirt....and then put both of them in the dryer together. Should cancel each other out.

Same logic as eating pasta and antipasta at the same time. You'll never gain weight doing that.

It's true, it's true......

Well now, since we know the answers to shirts shrinking or not, maybe try putting your belly in the dryer. Please let use know the results.

But, is the belly polyester or cotton?

...or some other gelatinous substance that mysteriously appeared sometime after 30.

Smile

I would ask your bathroom scale if your shirt is shrinking or if you are expanding. Those suckers just won't lie to you. As for washing your shirt, I never!!!!!! put mine in the dryer. A polyester shirt will dry in no time and will look much better when never exposed to heat!

Lightbulb

I wash and dry all my stuff with whatever else is dirty, with the exception of clothes that may have come in contact with some soft asphaltic product.
It's only the jackets that are aggravating to me.
Sand box dirt comes right out.
