This is a question from a new official. If I'm interpreting this correctly, I see that by a new rule there are no cases where team-control fouls result in a free throw. How about player-control fouls? Do they result in free throws in certain cases?

No. The player control foul remains exactly as it has always been. The new team control foul simply makes the penalty for a foul by any member of the offensive team the same as the penalty for a foul by the ballhandler.

Is there going to be a signal for a team-control foul? Or will it just be the signal for the foul that was called? (Push, block, etc?)

I honestly don't know, Frank. Somebody asked this when the rule change was first announced and nobody seemed to know. My guess is that the team control signal will be the same as the player control signal. This is the case in NCAA men's mechanics, and I think it's pretty likely that the FED will follow their lead.

Just a reminder that Referee Magazine has no authority to set mechanics or make rule interpretations for the NFHS. We don't even pay attention to what they write out here. Although they like to pass themselves off as an authoritative source of sports rules information. I guess it helps sell subscriptions.

No one said that Referee Magazine was the authority. But if the NF did not add a new signal, then they did not add a new signal. They just report the information that is given to them. That is the case with most media outlets.
