Exclamation

Hi to all. a quick question
Is the intentional foul treated just like the technical foul. 2 free shoot and the ball, at the point where the foul happen, for the opossite team??

An Intentional Foul is not treated exactly like a Technical Foul.

Of course the offended team gets the ball and gets two shots. The difference is the ball is put at the spot of the foul, not opposite the table at half court. And you can have as many IF as possible until a player fouls out.

Peace

First of all, on a technical foul, the ball is not given back to the team at the spot of the foul. It is given at the division line opposite the scorer's table.

Here's the differences under NF rules:

Intentional personal foul / 2 shots by the fouled player (or substitute if injured) with the lane cleared, then the ball back at the spot of the foul. 3 shots if fouled during an unsuccessful 3 point attempt.

Technical foul / 2 shots by anyone on the opposite team with the lane cleared, then the ball back at the division line opposite the scorer's table. Two different players may shoot the 2 shots.

Two free throws on either successful basket. Three on an unsuccessful three-pt shot.

Mark Padgett pointed this out, but I want to emphasize that all of these posts assume intentional personal fouls.

It is, of course, possible to have intentional technical fouls. In that case, any player of the offended team takes 2 shots, and the ball is awarded at halfcourt.

Not mine - I stated it, not assumed it. You know what happens when you ASSUME.

For those of you who don't know - it means "you make a Billy Packer out of you and me".
