Anyone ever eject someone before the toss, and/or any time has come off the clock?

2 seconds is pretty close

Nope. My personal record for a regular season high school game is 7:58 remaining in the first quarter.

However, I can envision two scenarios in which a pre-jumpball DQ would occur.

1. A T is issued for a pregame dunk. The kid then does it again or the coach/player takes such exception to the call that he gets tossed.

2. Unsporting conduct occurs during the pregame warmup. Could be a battle over the center circle, running through the other teams warmup drills, profanity exchanged between opposing players, or even a pregame fight breaking out. I've seen the last happen in football when the officials weren't even on the field yet.

2 seconds Nevada? Oh, do share.

And I thought my dad had a record--he got thrown 43 seconds into a JV game about 10 years ago. Now that I've become an official, he's mellowed out .

Shockingly enough, I don't believe I ever have. I have done #1, though (one game, I gave 4 T's for pre-game dunking - 3 to team A, and then 1 to team B) and was shocked that the fallout didn't lead to any ejections.

One person should have been ejected after this.

Would those 3 T's on Team A be indirect T's on the coach? If so, he would have been ejected.

If not, what constitutes an indirect T?

In a real game, yes.

Unfortunately, it was an intramural game, so there was no one who I could hold accountable. (If I were to eject the captain for this, I would have been killed - not to mention I'd never work again.)

You got it right, Luke.

Quickest for me is like 4 minutes into the first quarter. Two seconds is going to be really hard to beat!!!

Nevada did you really have two seconds.

That was awesome, I can not believe that.I have thrown a player out for throwing a punch two minutes in to the game.

But never two seconds.

Made me think of a funny way to possily get tossed. We use to do it in practice every now and then if we wanted to get back at somebody or not want our opponet to jump.

On the jump ball to start the game, when your opponet jumps for the ball you grab onto his shorts and pull them down. Quickest way I can think to get tossed "after the toss."
