Came across this quote today.

"Devotees of grammatical studies have not been distinguished for any very remarkable felicities of expression."

-- Amos Bronson Alcott

So who the heck is Amos Bronson Alcott, and what does he know, anyway? C.S. Lewis was a philologist, which isn't quite grammatical studies, but it's close. I'd guess that "devotees of grammatical studies" have made huge contributions to the work of the Wycliffe Bible Translation teams. "Felicities of expression" aren't the only value in language study. Precision and comprehension are worthy goals in working with language, and those certainly cant be obtained without some acumen with grammatical study.

Does that feel a little better?

Actually he was able to afford a high-priced legal team & was found not guilty.

Those same people are available to handle civil suites so watch what you say about him.

Hey, I could handle a civil suite, too, though as a Quaker, a military suite would be tougher on me.

Thanks, Dan, I've been looking all over for one of those. They don't print them in our newspaper, for some reason.
