You have to be careful with the balling rolling on the top of the backboard here is well. I may be opening up a whole nother can of words on this one, but I was always told, or atleast given the impression that the rule was to be interpeted that the ball, when rolling on the backboard was not out of bounds until it went off the back edge of the backboard.
