I've always liked Ken Mauer as a referee. I came across this through nbarefssuck.com...

Interesting read.

Thanks for the breaking news from 2000. He was sentenced in 2001.

Did you get one of those new Pope Benedict trading cards yet that Topps put out?

No, but I've got his rookie Priest card.

From 1948. That was about when you stopped being on court, right?

Geeze, try to give a fellow official a little pertinent information, bring a l'il sunshine into his drab life, and in return you get nothing but abuse and personal attacks.

I'm shocked!

Shocked, I tell ya!!!

You didn't really think I was funning ya, didya?

PS: Note that every card comes with a stick of holy gum.

It is old news to me, that's all. I've long known about religious trading cards. Thanks though: I could use the Holy gum as I can never seem to get the words correct to Hail Mary.

It goes like this: "Three receivers wide right. There's the snap, straight drop to his own 40. He lets it fly for the end zone! There's a mass of bodies at the goal line. It's tipped on the 2 and. . . it's caught!!! He caught it!!! Touchdown!!! Touchdown!!!"

(For Mike, since you're in Canada. . . "straight drop to his own 50. . ." )

Since it gets cold here earlier, we start football in 2 weeks! Hearing things "his own 50" is music to my ears!

Ken officiated the Miami-Washington game tonight (Thu., May 12, 2005). I just checked the box score.
