Does anyone have access to the NFHS mechanics exam, the answers and the specific manual locations for the answers?
Wondering about a few procedural irregularities...

nfhs.org should get you what you need.

Mechanics exam? Is that something different than the rules exams?

Yes. The mechanics exam deals with such things as installing a muffler on a coach.

Mechanics exam

Tool 4 educators/ retesting lapsed members/ new candidates...all that stuff. Sites mention the mechanics but do not post sample exams...just that my board takes too long to respond to these queries.

I'm with you now. So I should send a coach to see this mechanic guy when he's unable to stop at my stop sign? ;)

I believe IAABO has a mechanics exam. Maybe that's the one he's thinking of.

Yes. If that's the case, you need to push the button for the ejection seat. :D

I thought there was a mechanics exam on the NF website? Am I wrong about that? I do not have a membership to take the NF courses so I am really not sure.

Hey, Iaabo here, there`s only the floor exam, no mechanic`s exam,I dink.

JRutledge Sun Apr 10, 2005 03:39pm

When IAABO makes you guys take the floor exam (or whatever it is called) what kind of game does this take place.

Peace

Mechanics Test

Typically, in my Board, the IAABO Mechanics Exam is a 50 item written (T or F) based on the 03-05 Mechanics Manual for the 2 and 3 man game. This is followed up by a floor test with a Senior Evaluator at a calibre appropriate to the level being sought. We therefore designate the testing (game and court mechanics) according to a Panel designation. Currently we have Associate, Junior, Intermediate and Panel 5,4,3,2,1 (1 being university/college). More is expected of each panel for passing grade (commonly accepted at 86%).

This is a perfect example of what Juulie and her ilk (I count myself among that number) are talking about when they stress the importance of having command of the language. I'm not in IAABO, so I couldn't answer this question even if I knew what Rut was talking about; but what about people that do know about IAABO's rules and procedures? It's silly that Rut's question may not get answered because somebody who knows might not be willing to take two posts to answer it: one to answer it, in addition to the one it might take asking for clarification of the question.

Rut, I'm not picking on you nearly as much as I'm picking on people who refuse to give any credence to the idea (actually held by more than just Julie and me) that sharp use of language is something that we should all work at.
