Congratulations to the University of South Carolina for winning the NIT. They can now lay claim to having the 66th best basketball team in the nation.

SC will probably be remembered more than a number of 1st round also-rans in the NCAAs. I remember when UConn won the NIT and then they made the NCAAs the following year. And if prompted with the year they won, I could probably name the winner of the NCAA that year. But even though some view it as #66, people will not remember all 65 who finished 'ahead' of them.
