Enough on Billy Packer. Gus Johnson is the best play by play in the world!! He does the best job in this tournament year in and year out. Put him with Bill Raftery and let them go at it!! What a telecast. With the classic: Maaaaan to Maan!!

Ill second that, Gus is great to listen too. I absolutly love it when the underdog comes up big with Gus doing the broadcast. This weekend when Sorrentine nailed to shot from around 30 ft. He said "Sorrentine from the parking lot." Gus is great. Wish he would be the #1 guy at CBS.

I agree too, Gus brings that extra energy to the telecast. Put him on the big games and get rid of the idiocy and negativity of Nantz and Packer.

IMHO the best commentator ever was Rick Barry. He did NBA on TBS for a few years but was let go because he was too good. What I mean is that his comments could only be appreciated by fans that really knew the game in depth. He was way over the head of the casual fan.

Too bad. I would love to hear his take on today's game.

BTW - wouldn't it be great to have a retired NBA official doing the commentary?

You might be onto something there. Put him with Walton so they both can talk about "back in my day......"

Hey Rick does a noon-3pm radio show out of San Francisco (KNBR). His sidekick is Rod Brooks, former NFL player. I listen to him alot. He thinks dunks have ruined the game, bad defense isn't helping and that Shaq should shoot his free-throws underhanded. Met Rick last year at A Sacramento Capitals match last year-he's a big fan of tennis. ANd he seems to be always lobbying for the Warriors head coaching job but doesn't seem to be interested in being an Asst. coach. All in all his show gets a solid A from me in the entertainment department.
