In NCAA, you stop play when the team ceases "to attempt to score", so you allow the rebounding action to continue until they score or they kick it out (NCAA 5-9-8a).
I can assure you I won't blow it mid shot and go AP, if we do that and go AP I am afraid people will go APE LOL

I hope that's exactly what you will do in your HS games. As soon as the try leaves the shooter's hand, you should blow the whistle. Score it and Team B can run the endline, or go to the AP. That's what the FED rule is, that's how you should administer the sitch in your HS games. Otherwise, the next time it happens and a different official does it by the book, you know somebody will go APE.

Chuck,
I believe the Fed rule says that is when an official "can" suspend play, it is required..
