Thumbs down

Try to catch the highlights of the DePaul-UAB today. Tied at 56 in the closing seconds, UAB player drives the lane and kicks out for the winning three. UAB guard creates a little contact with the defender, who flops big time. Correctly, a no-call.

Doug Gottlieb calls out the officials for the travesty of a no-call. "I understand 'let the players decide the game', but that's what they did, That was terrible. That was a charge, and this game should be in overtime."

Is he actually _trying_ to sound this stupid?

No, it just comes naturally.

Saw the play on The Deuce. Announcer called it "a bad no-call" and noted that the official was in "perfect position." I saw the replay, and the flop is so obvious to anyone who actually officiates it wasn't even close. When the arms go flying like that it's usually a pretty good indication that the kid is trying out for the drama department.
