Ronnie Nunn comes on NBA TV about once a week in an interesting segment where they review contriversial calls from the last week.

On Vince Carter's dunk, since it wasn't technically a try, in past years, it would be an illegal pass of the backward. However, the NBA made a new rule last summer that allowed such a play to take place.

I remember it was brought up here at the time, so thought I'd pass it along.

These segments usually remind me why kids today are so confused today about rules.. the NBA has a lot of distinct differences, especially with block/charge. Oy.

Why is a backward pass illegal?

NBA players have been doing this for years.
