Sit 2: Team A player A1(a senior) is injured in a car accident before the season starts. The last game of the season A1 returns and enters the game with 1:00 left in the game losing by 20. The team and crowd wants him to score in his last game of his HS career. A1 gets fouled on a try for goal with 00:00 on the clock.

You are the calling official. What do you do?

Sit 1: no shots.

Sit 2: I'll let him shoot.

Why the difference? I care more about compassion and sportsmanship than I do about artificially manipulating the scoring records.
Sit 2 only affects the player involved. Sit 1 affects the current record-holder as well; who surely never had the opportunity to shoot free throws with the game decided and no time on the clock.

Sit 1: No Shots

Sit 2: No Shots (Don't put it on the officials...the stubborn coach could have put him in earlier if he/she really cared about him playing/scoring.) JMO

Screw the first one.

In the second, you could always put time back on the clock. "Reset the clock. There should be .2 seconds left."

The first one is easy - go home.

Second - if the coach really cared about the player, I agree he should have put him in sooner.

The second one, refer to the first answer.

They shoot if the horn has not sounded. If horn sounds, then the 1 second lag time comes into play. In which case it is your judgement when the foul occurred.

No shoot and shoot...easy. But why wait until the bitter end to put the kid on the line. In Sit 2, provided the coach had enough sense to let me know what was up, I've got a foul within the first 10 seconds and more if he misses the first attempt.

As for the record...should have made the two free throws earlier in the season...sorry.
