John P Nucatola wrote a book called Officiating Basketball. I assume it is long out of print but if I could find a copy, it would be great! Nucatola is one of 12 officials in the HOF, BTW. My guy knew him in the 50's and if the book is reasonably priced, I would love to get it for him. I've tried the "normal" sites I found by Googling - does anyone have any other suggestions about where to look?

What do you mean by "my guy"? Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Just kidding. Welcome to the board. I hope someone can help you. Here in the Northwest, we always try Powell's books in Portland. They carry about a bazillion out of print books.

Thanks - tried the store you suggested but no luck.

I was hoping that you guys knew of some secret stash of BB lore

(NOT going to get into the "my guy" thing - I've seen what you refs can do to perfectly "innocent" phraseology - LOL)

But I did find the title of another booklet he wrote when he was trying to convince folks that a 3 man crew was the way to go so now I'm looking for two items!

I assume you've tried Amazon.com? I've gotten OOP books there before through their second-hand service.

Funny you say that, my wife insists we come up with something else to call our "partner".
