Someone outside of what we do

would probably state their favorite phrase of disbelief. And, with all the publicity over the past couple of years that this issue of violence (officials vs coaches, coaches vs parents and fans etc.) has received in the media you would find it hard to believe unless they enjoy being uniformed. I know I've often wondered to what extent a coach would go when they're irate so I rarely turn my back to them and just walk to the other side of the court. I've seen too much disgusting unsportsmanlike behavior from people who claim they're trying to teach the kids the game and sportsmanship. At least we'll be able to explain why their kids act that way when they become adults.

I hope that coach never sees any gym ever again and is hit with an assault charge.

Exclamation

In my state, this is a Class A misdemeanor and will be prosecuted under state statutes. The offender would be heavily fined and also could serve jail time.

That's what we thought about Pennsylvania also.

Our state was not interested in making it a crime, but common sense says it is assault, regardless of where it takes place. Hopefully, the courts see it that way.

One judge needs to punish to the max so that others will follow. I personally feel this way about alot of crimes but especially when someone has time to contemplate, time to plan, time to decide right from wrong and still attacks an official who usually does not even see it coming.

Wonder what this coach's excuse will be. Ah, yes, I can hear it now. Coach: "well I actually didn't know this guy was a sports official."

Could you believe the closing statement in the story?

"Price says Saturday's incident was the first time a coach allegedly assaulted a referee during a recreation
department game in several years."

So, it's only been "several" years ago that this most recently happened. Well, that's good. I was afriad it might have happened before!!!

"I grew up without a father." On second thought, I actually did. Wonder if I can use this excuse.
