What a good game last night. The score never had more than 4 point difference the entire night. Partner and I were consistent and focused the entire game.
3.1 sceonds left in the game. 2 point game home team is up. Visiting team inbounds, dribbles up court and launches a 3. Ball hits the rim, horn sounds, ball goes straight up and bounces off the shot clock, support structure, shot clock again, then goes through the basket. Partner is waving off the shot, crowd is up on their feet cheering. Kids are all jumping up and down celebrating. Only the two coaches see the shot being waved off and immediately converge on us. Home team coach is happy, obviously. Visiting team coach is not. "Rule 7 coach".

Good partner, good game, good players....sometimes this game isn't so bad.

Thumbs up Nice Job!

Had the ball hit the support structures at any other time during the game? That would have helped sell the call - "It was OOB last time coach and it's got to be OOB this time too. I'm sorry. It was a great attempt, but it is still a miss. We had it counted, if it had gone straight in without the bounce off the support wire."

Tony,
I wished it would have hit it another time. The kids understood, many parents came up to us afterwards and asked if that was why we waved it off.

All is well. No punches were thrown.

Did you hit the whistle as soon as it hit the Supports?

Sounds like nobody would have heard it - but .....
