Often times, God has a way of openning our eyes to our priorities in life during our officiating career. Last Saturday was one of those times.

The Heartland Conference and Mid Central Conference out of Indiana and Ohio lost one of its veteran womens officials due a terrible traffic accident in Indiana.

Two officials were on their way to work their assignment in Indiana when they were hit head-on on an overpass of one of the Interstate Freeways in Indiana.

One official passed away at the scene, and other official is in the hospital in Indianapolis. Please remember these families in your thoughts and prayers, as they try to work through this difficult time.

Officials, please be carefull on the way to and from your assignments. As my one supervisor told all of us on staff earlier this week, it is better to arrive right at game time, then the alternative.

Thanks to all of you who remember these two families in your thoughts and prayers through this difficult time. The other official that was injured is continuing to improve daily, and is expected to make a full recovery.

My wife received an email regarding this from the Big XII.
It said there was going to be a fund set up for the surviving children. If anyone gets the name and address of this when it is set up, could you please post it.

Who was it?

Actually, there were two (2) officials involved in the accident. Tim Cartwright survived the crash.

Dave Venderly (Supervisor of Officials for the Heartland Conference) sent the following email to those on his staff:

Officials,

The showing for Scott Bostick is Thursday February 3 from
4:00-8:00p.m.
The funeral is Friday February 4 at 10:00 a.m. The showing and funeral are both at:

Traders Point Christian Academy
7880 Lafayette Rd.
Indianapolis, In 46278
317-329-4426

The school has set up a trust fund for Scott's three daughters. You may send contributions to the above address.

Make checks out to:

Scott Bostick's Children's Fund

I want to thank everyone that has emailed or called and showed their concern for Scott, Tim, and their families. God works in mysterious ways, and I am sure he has a plan for all of us! Those interested in Tim's progress can get an update at:

May God Bless and Comfort the Bostic and Cartwright families
