A few of you knew that my son spent the night in the hospital, and I just want you to know he's much better today. Still not 100% sure of diagnosis, but we got some sleep and he's busy with the game cube today. Talking back to nurses and demanding his favorite foods.

He's here for at least one more night, but I'm taking my game tonight, anyway. It's too big to pass up short of life-and-death.

I'm going home now to take a nap, a shower, and get my bag packed. I'll report back tomorrow morning.

PS Tim, how's your girl today? I hope you've had as much success as we have in getting better.

Glad to hear he's doing better Juulie. They've got good people up on the hill - he's in good hands. Our thoughts & prayers are with you.....

Mine has an appointment to see her PCP today - symptoms still the same, no change. Hopefully they'll figure out what's going on soon......

The big game... what can one say? It was as huge as I thought it would be, and it was a lot of fun . I missed a couple -- should have whacked one assistant and didn't. There was an evaluator there, and I'm pretty sure I'll get dinged for missing that one. First foul was a little ticky-tack, and it got one coach on my back for about the first 5 minutes. She backed off after that since she was busy yelling at her players who had a terrible first half. We let them play through, tried to see advantage and disadvantage. We had one mechanics screw-up that we managed to both contribute to, one mechanic that I almost blew but partner saved me, and I waved off one last second shot that was a good call, but I didn't signal it well at all. Fans were screaming and being obnoxious the whole time, but that was fine. They didn't get under my skin. In fact, the AD asked me afterward if he should have tossed "that noisy fan" and I really didn't know who he meant. Coaches didn't get into my head. I had one good explanation for each of them, and they didn't like them, but backed off. It was just plain cool. I thought I did really well, I felt confident and calm. We'll see what the eval says.

I can't imagine doing 5th grade tomorrow!

Awesome Juulie - glad it was a good one! I know how tough it can be to focus when your mind has other priorities - you did good. Now get some rest......then tomorrow you can let us know the DETAILS! (of course I'll probably cheat a little & check the morning sports section for the writeup....)

Caught the write up on the back of the sports page this morning.....sounds like once they got going there wasn't a whole lot of question of the outcome.

I've got the first 2/3 of the boys games from the same schools tonight - odds are I will probably have an evaluator there as well. I don't know why they always seem do this to me on the back half of a double - this would make 3 of the last 4.....not that it matters as I try to do my best for every game I'm on the floor regardless of the level or who's watching.

Now to the important stuff - when's your son coming home?
