A couple of days ago I saw an official wearing big eyeglasses during a Divison 1 game between Duke and St. John's. Of course, the game was part of the pre-season (then called Big Apple) NIT from 1985, but I found it interesting nonetheless.

Does anyone know how long it has been since officials regularly wore eyeglasses in Division 1?

With the size of their game fees....they should be able to afford contacts!

I will never say I have never seen it at that level. I just would not remember. But since I have been officiating, I have never seen a D1 Basketball official wear glasses in the years I have been officiating. I am sure it happens from time to time, I just do not remember seeing it.

Peace

I know a guy, Dick Ball, who wore glasses for a couple of years in the late 90's at the D1 level.
