For The Record...

I deleted the picture this time. Therefore we can end the speculation right there.

Bushref,

You can call it big brother, censorship, whatever. I don't give a rip. If you want to post that kind of material, do it on the other boards where the owners and moderators don't care. At this board we try and keep things professional and above the fray. Yes, at times, posts take a turn for the worse, and the owner and moderators have to make decisions. Sometimes we edit a post/thread, sometimes we choose to delete entirely and sometimes we choose to leave it alone because between the muck good/ valid content exists as it pertains to officiating. This post/ pic falls well below the common sense level of what is decent and appropriate. In the future do not post this pic (or similar pics) on this board.

Thank you for your future cooperation.

Brendan

I would like to officially retract my comments from the Jay Bilas thread. i can't defend joking when it is purposefully offensive.

I've commented from time to time about the nature of the community that has grown up here. You can call it what you like, BushRef, but we as a community do not want that kind of content to be part of our community. The moderators do a pretty good job of keeping out stuff that we deem offensive. From time to time we jump their case if we think they've gone too far. But the bottom line is this: we don't want that kind of stuff here, we support the moderator's actions on our behalf, and although we'll welcome anybody to come and be a part of this community, we have standards.

Nah, what I call it is bull$hit.

So many of you complain about your associations being run by "the good ole boys" network, and this board is no different.

Yawn.

Gimme a fukkkin break. $hit's gettin deep in here now. We got a mod with 97 posts talkin about "rules" of the board? Where exactly are these "rules" posted?

This forum is for basketball officiating. Anything that's off topic is subject to being removed by the moderators or site owner. This is a free site and if you would like to post material that isn't appropriate for this site, you have every right to create your own website and post whatever you like there. No one is censoring you. The site moderators are simply doing their jobs.

Yeah, I have 97 posts but I have been around here since its inception. I do more reading than I do posting (similar approach that I take when I attend camps... listen more than I talk)Do I post much, no... but that is irrelevant to the fact that I know what is appropriate and inappropriate content for this site. The rules are covered when you register. Further information, although less detailed, is housed within the "faq's" link.

This forum, is free and sponsored by Rightsports. As such, permitting questionable or objectionable content on this site may reflect poorly on the parent company and affect business in a negative way.

Get on board with what we are trying to tell you, and contribute in a positive fashion (differing opinions are always welcome as long as they are stated with some class and tact and don't become personnal attacks of other members) or take your contributions to another site. Last chance.

And how does the number of posts tell you anything? I could post a 1000 posts of nothing but...

Hey, how 'bout them Clippers! They're going to be champs this year.

But, it doesn't mean I know squat.

Sometimes, those that say the least are the ones to be listened to.

Unless of course you have a personal gripe with one of the writers/editors of Officiating.com and then you get to have your moderator privileges revoked without any reason at all just to make him happy.

Apparently I've "made up" with that editor, but I still don't see my name listed as a moderator. That's OK, though, because it's more fun being one of the ones who are moderatED.

Personally, the number of posts is pretty much irrelevant, but I do think that someone who's a moderator on a site should try to contribute some more. It's OK to be a sponge of other's ideas and thoughts, but if everyone was like that there'd be no site at all.
