Exclamation

I just want to clarify something on a player control foul...

A1 is dribbling and pushes B1 with his forearm to gain an advantage. This is a player control foul, correct? (as A1 was in possession of the ball when he fouled). So, no foul shots and Team B's ball at the spot nearest the foul.

Correct, no foul shoots if B's in the bonus but the foul does count on A1 and team A.

Had 2 of these Friday (JVG) -- same player. I called one and my partner called the other. Player & coach could not understand why we called them. Not a clue.

Yes, a player control foul indeed. I find that this is not called as reguarly as it could be and is viewed more like a hand check by the offense (the point being defensive hand checks could be called more too).

It is a good observation that coaches look puzzled when you call it against their player but, that same coach will ride you all game if the other team is doing it. Go figure.
