Thumbs down

Hy! I'm from Europe, from Serbia. When I was younger, I wachted a lot of NBA. But when I become a referee, this has changed. I have an impression that in NBA, rules are les important then the players. I remember, MIchael Jordan break a lot of rules, and the referrees let him do that. I would like to hear some other opinions about NBA basketball. That's not the only thing that I don't like in NBA, but for now just this.

In the NBA, the rules are different and the game is different. THe NBA officials are the best trained basketball officials in the world. But the NBA wants the game officiated a certain way. THey do what they're told, just like the rest of us.

...and what they're told is a lot different from what we're told. If you're a new ref, don't watch the NBA. Period.

Actually, you can learn a lot form their rotations and switches. Also, there off ball coverage, clock awareness, and positioning is excellent. You just have to understand that it's a different game, with different rules.

I agree, there's a lot to learn there. But the first year or two aren't the years to do that.

Thanks! But not only the rules are diferent, I agree that it is another game. Basketball has become too physical. Now it's important who is stronger, who can jump higher, who is faster. I bet the players are using lots of steroid and who knows wat else! They have forgotten that basketball is still a game. I don't like it!
