15 years of officiating, and I finally had my first brawl last night...Women's JC ball, 7.9 seconds left, sucker punch by Blue #5 - flagrant personal. Before I can get to her, White #21 retaliates, tackels B5 (flagrant Technical)and now it's on...coaches did a good job and no one came off benches. Final tally was 3 ejections - the original two and one other Blue player who dove on top of W21 while they were still on ground...two dads come out of stands and have to be escorted out by Game Management...gotta say there were some pretty good blows landed...really came out of nowhere tho - even both coaches said afterwards they had no idea anything like that was gonna happen...turns out B5 and W21 went to rival high schools and had some kind of history, not sure what...btw: it was a 31 point game at the time (blue losing)...what a night.

Wow.....first brawl and it was a cat fight no less!

How lucky was that? Did you call Ripley's after the game?

rockyroad,

Just wondering, was it a three-whistle crew? I've never had anything like this, but obviously I'm sure the whole situation was easier for you and your partner if there was a 3rd whistle. Thanks

And maybe you should edit the title of your "Titke IX" post.

It was three-whistle...U-1 is another 15 or 16 year guy, does some D-1 stuff. U-2 was a young lady in her third year of officiating - you should have seen how big her eyes were! When we finally got everyone to their benches so we could discuss what was going to happen, her contributions to the discussion were " Oh my God!" and "Holy $hit, you guys!" So that provided some comic relief...

And Mick, this one was one too many!! We had about a 50 min. drive home afterward, and we kept kicking around the "What could we have done differently" question, but darn it, I can't think of anything. As our supervisor said when I called " Sometimes they're just gonna be stupid."

Yeah, sure, why not.

The post you made is idiotic. If that makes you stupid then I can live with that.

Nyet.

After a couple of thousand games, I have been lucky to have never been involved with one but it ain't over till it's over and I hang up the uniform for that last time.
