Can someone explain to me the OOB rule with a square backboard. What parts are OOB, the side, top, bottom? AND, if you shoot over the backboard from behind and make no contact with supports is it still out. This seems to be the only rule that somtimes confuses be because it differs from square top to rounded top backboards. Thanks.

In NF, the rectangular backboard has six sides - front, back, top, bottom, right side, left side. Only the back is OOB. A ball passing over the backboard from behind, or a ball going over the top is considered OOB. On a fan shaped board, a ball going over the top is not automatically OOB unless it hits a support. You can also shoot over a fan board from behind.
