Gray Shirts

Montana has allowed the use of the gray shirts since last season. Feedback has been good so far.

Many associations in Canada are switching from grey shirts to striped shirts.

If that tells you something.

I have one assignor that allows us to wear those shirts. But all of the stuff I am working for him is JUCO. The Junior College Athletic Association lets their officials wear these shirts. No one else allows these shirts to be worn. I love them and would not be unhappy if everyone changed in the future.

Peace

There's a reason for it.

Not every manufacturer has the same definition of grey. The Honigs greys, and our other supplier's greys didn't match in colour. Now when you've got a 3-whistle crew, all in a different colour shirt, it looks horrible. This year we switched to stripes, and I can't tell the difference from one shirt to the next. Black and white are only black and white.

I agree with the "uniformality" of uniforms. Good point. I would like to get our association to standardize on specific pants, jackets, shirt vendors, etc. for this same reason. I think we should all look exactly the same.

Hey, hold onto a black&white shirt long enough and you'll have a gray shirt!

btw, you mispelled "color".

Yeah, one Juco conference I work in allows them. Well, not really allows them since that is the only shirt we wear. Also, we wear a gray shirt with the IAABO logo in one of the boards I belong to. Honig's gray that I got is Cliff Keen. My other gray shirts are Official's Choice. I like Cliff Keen's shirts even though they are slightly darker than the others. Official's Choice gets used a lot because they have the IAABO contract and people get comfortable buying other things from them. Let me tell you, if I had my choice it wouldn't be Official's Choice. That is just me. I have this crazy idea about paying for something and actually getting it or at least being told that it is on back order. Silly me!

Well, my partner and I each bought two of these shirts. It was great last night, we worked a freshman girls game then a freshman boys game. In the first game (girls) we wore the black n white shirts.
In the second game, we came out in the gray w/pinstripes.

When we had our meeting with the coaches, he asked if we were the same two guys who worked the first game.

Those shirts are so lite and such. I love the look!

Here in Indiana, it is not approved but no one cares for freshman and below, we'll wear them when we want!
