Question

I'm a new official. At training tonight we were told that after administering free throws for a dunk during warm-ups you give the offended team the ball and the arrow. I am sure the offending team gets the arrow. I looked my rulebook and can't find anything (although I could have missed it). Could any one help me out? Thanks!

You are correct.

The game begins with the free throws by A (no one on the lane). Then A gets the ball at the division line. When the ball is at the disposal of A, the initial "possession" of the game is established, and the arrow is set to B. See last year's Case 6.3.1 Sitch A.

The rule you want is 4-3-3b. It tells you how to INITIALLY set the arrow.
The Case Book play rainmaker told you about has been renumbered 6.4.1 Sit A this year.

Also, 10.3.4 Sit C applies to your situation. It reminds you that an indirect T is also charged to the Head Coach for the pregame dunk and the coaching box priviledges are lost for the game.
