For the Canadian refs, I just found out this past weekend at the OUA Development Camp that the CIS Women will now be playing CIS Men's rules (NCAA Men's with modifications) starting this 2004-2005 season with the following exceptions/retentions from FIBA:

-wide key
-substitution rule
-no handle in the backcourt after violations
-time-outs (still discussing T/Os being called by players or coaches)
-bonus on 8th team foul

That's good. It makes the men's and the women's games a bit more compatible.

Do they do 1 and 1 on the 8th team foul and 2 shots after 10?

Just trying to figure that out. :D

They've always gone straight to 2 shots at 8 fouls.

Yeah I know the feeling. I think it took me about 3/4 of a season before having this cemented in my cranium. Now if I could get the hang of the rest of the rules.... :)

I'm from Toronto, ON, Canada. lol...the ball isn't that much better down south! I've been to camps in the States, and the reffing is pretty comparable, too. We're just ahead in a few areas...you'll catch-up soon enough!
