Dragged by bag out of the corner to check the contents for the upcoming girls FED season that begins in Michigan Monday, August 23.

Has it really been since March that I looked in it?

Things are in pretty good shape. Shoes are only a year old and look good. Have 3 shirts, 2 are going to the unusable pile. 3 pair of pants, (pleated, beltless) 1 going to the u pile. 1 MHSAA black jacket in good shape.

Whistles, yuck, need some new ones. Shampoo cap came off, a little mucky mess around my hair ties.

And why is there popcorn in my shoes? And a lineup card from one of my softball games in 2002?

Oh well, got some equipment ordering and cleaning up to do.

Just out of curiosity, but how often should one retire old shirts and pants??

Whenever they look worn, or don't fit. The timeframe will depend on how many uniforms you have and how many games you work.

I try to keep a new shirt (or nearly new) on hand. Then, in really good light, hold the old one next to it.
If it's yellowed, snagged, worn -- off to the rag bag.

Chuck,
You never saw me in an ump hat didja? I'm expecting a picture from a tourney we worked last month.

All my ump hats are sized for 1" white "things growin' out my [head]".
