Chuck and Mark gave serious, thoughtful, detailed answers. Those weren't helpful?

Seriously, I think the most helpful answer you're going to get is that there isn't a great rulebook reference for exactly the situation you have in mind, but that the general interpretation of the travel rule is that you can't hop with the ball.

It's so tempting to add a bunch of silly, joking references to previous ridiculous posts, but I'll stand on my dignity here and leave the humping and hopping to others.
