I was reading a post from a year or so ago and I noticed that touching the ball after a made basket is a warning. Can some one please explain that to me if you dont mind.

It is not just touching the basketball that is a warning. It is delaying the game by touching the basketball after a made basket. This rule is to prevent the team that just scored a basket, tapping the ball away from their opponents and delaying the inbounding of the ball.
