Item enters the court

Mike O

I just read a post where a ball rolled onto the court while a shot was in the air. The official blew the whistle (while the shot was in the air). Count the basket if the shot was made. My question is what if the shot was missed? Does possession go to the arrow?

there is no team or player control...unless the whistle comes after someone already rebounded the miss.

I am going to say yes you would go to the arrow as no team is in possesion.

Seems like Hawks Coach could put that in his bag of tricks.

Don't give him any ideas! Hawks Coach is one of them there coaches who reads the rules and uses them to his advantage.

I am making sure I have a loose ball ready - this will help me avoid those intentional fouls!

I quit trying to teach the refs the rules a long time ago - for some odd reason, they just won't listen to me?! The only advantage I get is teaching my players the rules and how they are called by these guys that never call 'em my way.
