I may be off on the events of 1957, but JamesOn Curry will not be playing with North Carolina this year, at least. His offer was rescinded after a guilty plea to a felony marijuana possession and sale charge and he has signed with Oklahoma State.

By the way, I should have known it was NC and not Kansas, since the Heels beat my MSU Spartans in a triple overtime semi-final before winning the championship against Kansas in another triple overtime game the next day. But the Offensive Goaltending rule was for Chamberlain, not Lennie Rosenbluth. Incidently, 1956-57 was also the year the NCAA widened the lane to 12 feet.

Roy Williams rescinded the scholarship offer. But you knew somebody would offer him a scholarship. Just had to wait to see which coach is more interested in winning than character, and integrity. It doesn't surprise me that Eddie Sutton stepped up.

Just had my dad's 80th party last weekend - family flew in from all over...my nephew flew in from Conn. - big BoSox fan...told me how he went to NY to see one of the Yankees vs. Sox playoff games last fall, dressed in his finest Sox regalia...had to have police escort him out in the 6th inning because the NY fans were pelting him with whatever was close to hand...officials offered him free tickets to a game this season as a token of their regret - he just looked at them and asked if they were stupid or what?? Of course - it weren't too smart of him to go there like that anyway, were it???

My youngest son, Robbie, and a coupla of his buddies just returned from their annual pilgrimage to Yankee Stadium last weekend. They sat out in the right field bleachers for all 3 games. They didn't have any problems at all. Never do. Course it probably helps that they were all wearing Yankee t-shirts and hats.

Dan, he brought me back a retro #7 shirt. He's now officially back in the will.

I'll be at the Stadium on September 18 for a Sox/Yanks game. I'm having a hard time deciding what my attire will be. I always buy a home team cap, so I'll have a Yanks hat on, and maybe I'll wear a Sox t-shirt, but I'm not sure if I'm prepared to take my life in my hands.

Whoa, guys! I wouldn't rave about the treatment of Yankee fans at Fenway. I ran across plenty of jerks when I'd catch a game at Fenway during my grad student years. You are going to find jerks rooting for any team, especially where there is a big rivalry.

Thought I heard something on the radio like that about Curry. Too bad for NC. But, they don't need him to win another championship. Obviopusly, NC thought so too. Better to stay clear of troublesome players....Providence learned about that with Marvin Barnes in the 70's. Zero tolerance is the best policy.
