Rome is great. He's half comedian, half sports talk host. Thing is, he can pull it off, while chodes like Jay Mohr last all of 3 weeks. But Rome is an acquired taste. If you're a bleeding heart liberal, you probably won't like him. If you like someone to tell it like it is and actually stand behind their statements, you'll like him.

With that said, if you want to bash him, go ahead. Just have a take, and don't suck. War T'Wolves!

I am no longer a bleeding heart liberal (gave it up for lent one year and never looked back), but Rome doesn't work for me. It's easy, though. I turn the channel when he comes on. I think he did a good job with the Tillman service, though, and deserves props for a job well done.

Agreed. I'm a pretty long way from being a bleeding heart liberal and I've disliked him since he had his show on ESPN.

He's half idiot, half moron. Whether he tells it like it is or not, is debatable. What he does do is tell it the way HE sees it. As far as having a stake and not sucking, I couldn't care less about the frivolity of such nonsense.

I am not a Jim Rome fan. He did do a great job with the Tillman memorial.

My hero.

Maybe I'm crazy. Tillman is a huge hero to me. All those that have served are huge heroes. However, there was something special about Tillman. I don't know if it makes him better than the others, that is not my point.

I do know that some join the military because they have very few options in life. These people serve to the best of their abilities and are everyday heroes that fought (and some died) fighting for our causes.

Pat Tillman turned down a huge contract to stay in Sun Devil Stadium and play with the Cardinals, He lived his life on principles and backed it up 100% with action. When he felt a call to duty, he gave away what is so valued in our society, fame and fortune. He was a football player because he was a competitor. He was a soldier because he was an American. He wanted nothing in return. He was only giving to his country.

For me, this is what separates him. It does not make his life better or more valuable than any other soldier's. And if it made me terribly sad (which it did) when he passed and reminded me how horrible it was that so many others lost their lives, then good. I needed the reminder.

Nope, they're enforcing UN sanctions. Apparently they found out he was recruiting long range shooters and misinterpreted it.
