Winning the National Championship does not determine which conference is the best. It simply determines which team is the best. If it did, that would mean the Little 10 really SUCKS! 1 championship in the past 15 years, versus FIVE for the ACC! alk about no hardware! BTW, we beat Little 10 teams in 3 of those Championship games. MSU beat Florida, a REAL basketball powerhouse (Please note sarcasm!) ;)

Face it Rut, the Little 10 will NEVER be the great basketball conference the ACC is. Their thing is football and we'll soon be better in that! :D

That would be two National Championships. If we use your logic, outside of Duke, that means two for the ACC as well.

All you did was add Miami. Virgina Tech and Boston College? I guess the polls will burn now with that great lineup? :rolleyes: Neither team has done anything in its history. FSU has dominated the ACC unlike any team in any conference in history. They do not know what it is like not to win an ACC title. One year maybe. And they is going to make them better? I am sure both Miami with will have fear when they go to Tabacco road to beat those powerhouses in North Carolina. I can see Miami shivering with to play NC State and North Carolina and Duke. Man those games will sure make the National spotlight. Remember, Ohio State got in the *** of Miami in the National Championship game. But then again, we all can have a dream.

Well then, I guess the big east is the best confrence (3 for 6) and UConn is the best team (2 for 6) and Calhoun is
the best coach... when you consider he brought this school
from nowhere. UConn used to loss to Yale and New Hampshire
prior to his arrival....this isn't like taking over at
NC and then sucking wind. UConn was nothing when he got there. There was no program at all.

And the UConn girls are in a class of their own....shades
of UCLA circa the Wooden era.

Anyway, I agree about the big ten. It isn't hoop. They
play football in the gyms there these days.

Babble? Sorry to cloud the issue with facts. The only big east team the ACC beat in the tourny was Duke over Seton Hall. The Big east won every other matchup. Each team had three in the sweet sixteen, but at that level the ACC didn't win a game over a big east oppenent. The ACC is better than the big east? I guess if you say so. You are an ACC *FAN* (sorry to use that dirty word here) right? So your unbiased OPINION must be right.

Is the ACC overrated? How many times did they lose to lower
seeds including those from the big east? Last year the big east had 4 vs 2 for the ACC in the sweet 16, and the championship. Just the facts, babble and (fan based) opinion free.

The ACC is still overrated. You know it, and I know it. UConn was a way better team at the end of the year then Duke was, but they got a #2 seed and Duke got a #1 and who won the NC. You can make this about the Big Ten all you want, but the last time I checked, the Big East won the last two championships, not the ACC or the Big Ten or Pac 10. But North Carolina is already getting stroked by Dickie V and telling the world that NC is #1. Whatever. :rolleyes: And they will barely make the tournament again next year or make another early exit in the tournament, but they are the #1 team right? ;)

It is alright for Michigan to not be that strong in Basketball every now and then, but the school has won NC in both Basketball and Football. When has North Carolina won a football NC? When has Duke won a NC in Football? Hell does Duke have football? I know Ohio State can claim a NC in both football and basketball. Maybe you can hang your hat on soccer? Wow, soooocccerrrr. ;)

One team gets hardware - that is not the measure of relative strength of conference. Performance overall in the tournament is the best measure. Two final four teams and one finalist is a pretty strong statement - one half of the top teams were ACC. This is weak? This is overrated? One quarter of the elite eight and one quarter of the sweet sixteen was ACC. Every ACC team won in the first round. One Big Ten team made the sweet sixteen, and lost to a team from . . . Oh, never mind.

The RPIs had the ACC, the SEC, the Big 12, the Big East, and the A-10 toward the top. SEC fell short, the A-10 showed well but lost two close regional finals, the Big 12 was a whisker from the national final, and the Big East won it all. But the ACC was strongest before the tourney, and stongest after. They had the only 1 seed to make hte final four (and thus certify the high ranking on the court).

UM is my pre-season number 1, but they are every year before the season, even if they are banned from post-season. Unfortunately, reality has had a habit lately of overwhelming my dreams.
