Although I haven't been here very regularly for a while, and many of you may not know me, I wanted to let you know that my father (Peter Galle) passed away yesterday.
Peter was the person that taught me how to play basketball, and he was the one that got me involved as a referee. He was a fantastic father, and generally a pretty good bloke. I realise that no-one here knew him, but if you had, I am sure you would have found him to be a great guy. I'm not sure why I felt the need to post this here - but I'd like to thank those of you here that I have gotten to know pretty well for your friendship and for your interesting and provoking discussions. Many of the issues talked about in this forum were a constant source of discussion between my father and myself. Thank you. Duane Galle aka "Oz Referee" |

Duane, I'm very sorry to hear your news. I lost my mom to pancreatic cancer in July. I'm with you.

Duane,
I was born 7 weeks after my father died. How fourtunate it was for you to have met and loved your Dad. You've lost the body, but not the soul. The body was lent to you. The soul was given to you to share. Thanks for sharing. mick |
