Seeing that we are in the greatest time of the year Final FOur time, I thought this would make an interesting question. Which DI Coach do you feel gets away with the most when it comes to complaining to officials or officials changing the way they are calling the game?

Easy.

K gets away with more than any coach in the country.

Nah, my blood pressure is fine.

Oh no, don't get me wrong. He's the best coach in college basketball today, no question. He has the best program in the country. And I'm pulling for them today.

But he gets away with more than any other coach in the country as well. I've watched him do it for over 20 years.

If a hemmorhoid could talk, it would sound exactly like him.

JR, jealousy is such a petty emotion.

who gets the calls?

It seems to me that earlier this year, and in years past, Coach Robert Montgomery Knight's teams tend to shoot more fouls than do the opponents by nearly a 1/3 margin. What I also find interesting is that the stations on which Coach Knight's teams are playing usually have some graphic to go along with the information. But when it comes to the annointed one (Coach K, you know, the guy at Duke), such information is not presented. So I will present it here: Duke FT Att = 836, Opposition FT Att = 666 (4 games statistics were not available so I took the average FT shot by the other 33 opponents to make up the difference). These numbers are thru 3/28.

Another interesting thought is that the cameras are never on Coach K when he is on one of his rants. We only get the end of it when he has just blurted out his last expletive and puts on his rat-like facial expression. Then some wizard like Dickie V or Billy P tells the nation how much coach cares for his team.

While we're talking about Coach K, how many NCAA Div. I coaches get away with having their assistants talk to the sideline reporter right before the 2nd half begins?

Only one that I know of.

Chris "Mad Dog" Russo made a big deal about this on the FAN, too. But frankly, I think it's a non-issue. First of all, I don't think they're required by contract to do those stupid halftime interviews. And second of all, they're really stupid interviews. Does anyone actually want to hear the same platitudes from every coach during every halftime?

Sideline "reporter": Coach, your team shot 0.66% in the first half, you were out-rebounded 48-1, yet your only down by 62 points. What will your squad have to do to pull this one out?

Coach: Well, Barbie, that's why we play two halves, right? I mean, we feel we're right in this thing and if we can force a couple turnovers with our press and just hit our mid-range jumpers, we'll be in great position at the end of this game.

Barbie: Well, good luck, Coach, and thanks for --

Coach: Aw, heck. Who am I kidding, right? We need their whole squad to come down with the black plague in the next 15 minutes or so, or else we're screwed.

Barbie: Fair enough. Thanks, Coach. Back to you, Kenny.
