Varsity level boys - team A scores with 15 seconds left to go up by two. As B1 brings the ball up, A1 runs over and shoves him in the back. At first I was stunned, then I realized I'd better blow the whistle. I called an intentional foul, since there was no play on the ball. Coach A yells at A1, asking him what the hell he did that for. A1 looks up at the scoreboard and says he thought they were behind. He then yells loudly, "F***"! My partner T's him (correctly, in my opinion - no complaint from coach, either).
B1 goes to line, sinks one of two, then B2 goes to line and sinks both for one point lead. For some reason I still can't fathom, Coach A leaves A1 in the game. There are 8 seconds to go, B1 inbounds to B2 at division line (technical was shot last) and with everyone including his coach yelling at him to foul, A1 lets B2 dribble out the clock! I guess he either now thought he was ahead, or else he was just mad enough at his coach to let this happen.
Anyway, I'm not sure whether the player or the coach should get the award. What do you think?
