Question

Is there any ruling on uniforms pertaining to shorts and jerseys being the same color. In an Illinois Boys Class A Supersectional last night, one team had white jerseys and black shorts.

I don't have my rule books with me and consider the "spirit" of the rule to prevail here, meaning "no big deal, play on". If there is reference to this situation, is there a penalty for it.

Just curious.

NFHS - No rule.

NCAA - Jersey and pants must be the same color.

Nothing prohibiting it in the rulebook.

If, however, the opposing team had a similar dark colored jersey, I'd see if the home team could possibly change the shorts to avoid confusion.
