Lightbulb slapping of backboard

I would not call a tech but I would tell the player to knock it off!

Thumbs down Not at all.

No, and I would not even tell them to knock it off. You would have to show me some place in the rulebook that says it is illegal. I have even seen this as a drill. So I would do or say nothing, but I might be in the minority on this one.

Unless they are about to damage the backboard, let it go.

if it was disruptive in anyway, then MAYBE tell them to tone it down. Otherwise, just keep your eye on the rim, which is federally protected by the rules

File this one under "over officious"
