Wow, you guys are harsh on here. You are correct that ref did know a rule that I didn't. Seems like I got off on the wrong foot with everyone and I will definitely not say another bad word about an official on here.
This exact scenario happened in a game I officiated last night. I let the play go and the crowd got all over me for it. Seems like a very misunderstood rule, thanks again for helping me get this straight. Hendoo
