Where do I start.
I got the opportunity to so 3 Person in my first season. I had a few games where I had that opportunity. I did just about everything wrong in retrospect. I was not only learning officiating, I was learning this system. The good thing I did not have all the 2 person habits ingrained in my mind to have to reprogram myself.
I guess the biggest mistake is knowing when and when not to rotate. Peace

Watch out for the block/charge
My biggest lesson in 3 man was letting the trail call a block/charge. In 2 man, you have your primary on your side below the free throw line. If someone comes in from outside the arc and you have this situation, it is yours all the way.
In 3 man, the trail will see the play develop and follow the ball handler all the way in to the shot and have the best view of the play. So, when you are lead, listen for a double whistle and be ready to give up the call to the trail even if it is in your primary in this situation.
