Did my first girls junior high game the other day. i thought that in girls b-ball that players can enter the lane on a free throw on the release. am i incorrect? my partner told me the players weren't allowed in the lane until the ball hit the rim.

am i wrong?

You are wrong. In NFHS rules, all players must wait till the ball hits the rim to cross their boundary.

But if there are girls playing in a boys game, you should let them go in early to equalize things a bit.
Or have the boys pull out early!
