Tonight...7th grade playoffs.

Beam B is down the entire game but makes a valiant comeback. They had to foul several times to stop the clock and hope A misses free throws which they did.

B ties the game with under 5 seconds. A inbounds and just holds the ball in the backcourt. B player goes up and fouls the A player with 3 seconds left. It was intentional, but he was going for the ball.

Coach nearly passes out. A misses both free throws (they were 5 for 19). A ended up winning in overtime.

Had a similar situation yesterday in middle school boys varsity game (actually, a really good game). Home team up by 4 with about 12 seconds to go. Home coach is yelling at his team: DO NOT FOUL! Visitors attempt a 3, gets fouled, misses 1 of 3, home gets rebound, game over. Would only have made a difference if the 3 was good and he made the FT. Coach looks at me and says "why don't they ever listen"?
