Backcourt Brain Cramp

In a boys varsity game on tuesday night, there was a scrammble for the ball on a Team A interrupted dribble in Team A's front court. The ball goes off of a Team B players foot deep into Team A's backcourt. A Team B player dives for the ball and gains possession on the floor. Like an idiot, I call back court. I immediately realized what I had done, waived off the call and awarded the ball to Team B OOB. Other than "PAY ATTENTION" which I heard plenty, and loudly from the Team A coach when I went over and apologized, what are your thoughts on handling this issue, after the mistake.

What more can you do? You made a mistake and fixed it. The right team ended up with the ball. Most coaches would just accept it and move on. Learn from it and put it behind you.

We are lucky when we are allowed to fix our mistakes and can "correct our error." So many times when we make a mistake they are not correctable by rule even though common sense says that they it is probably the right thing to do.
