"point of interruption"

I was reviewing the NCAA Memorandum for Nov. In item 8 it specifically reminds officials to reset the shot clock after all fouls, to include all types of techs. On a correctable error, or double personal foul there isn't a reset...because we go back to the "point of interruption". Yet, by rule, we reset on a double tech, ind tech, dir tech...but we're directed to go back to "point of interruption." There's no administrative confusion, it's just the contradiction of the "point of interruption" term may have the potential for someone to gain an advantage. My thought is the rules committee needs to define "point of interruption" to include timing devices. Any NCAA thoughts about this one?

I agree, the NCAA probably does need to define "point of interruption". As implemented it seems only to establish how the ball is made live after the free throws for the technical. All other rules (e.g., shot-clock reset) are unaffected.

Regarding abuse of the "return to point of interruption" (e.g. calling an excess timeout to get more shot-clock time), I haven't seen or heard of any real-life examples ... anyone else?
