I don't have my book with me and a coach friend of mine is asking about a call in his game. He doesn't think it is backcourt so I need the rule reference or casebook to tell him to look at when he gets home. (like he will...)

A1 has ball in backcourt and passes towards the frontcourt but pass is awry and is heading out of bounds. Essentially A2 jumps from the frontcourt, snags the pass and lands in the backcourt. Tweet! backcourt.

Your answer will be in the definitions of "team control" and ball location (frontcourt v backcourt).

Provided A2 caught the ball while in the air after taking off from the FC, it is a violation. When A2 caught the ball in mid-air, he had FC status. When he lands, it now has BC status: Violation.
