Rich:

Please post the name of the school. Everyone from Wisconsin wants to know what school to avoid.

With all the assigning problems that have been mentioned here from Wisconsin and Ohio, I invite you to come to wonderful Indiana. Our system is cutting edge. Athletic directors get officials for all games. There are only a few conferences in the state with assigners. We also do schedules for most varsity games 2 to 3 years in advance. So the only way to get varsity games is to sit around for a while or hope to pick one up here and there. Oh, and the coaches vote is what gets you tournament games.

My question is, why dont you want to do girls games??

I tend to have more problems with grade school coaches than high school. To not do a game becouse of the coach I can see, but to not do a game becouse they are girls I dont get.

So if the W.N.B.A. would call you tonight to do a game I quess you would say NO!

You must have one heck of an ego?

I never turn down a girls game when one is offered. Just would prefer working boys games. What the heck does ego have to do with it?

I'd rather not, although I'm tempted. I'll email anyone who really wants to know, though. For 99% of the people here, the response isn't relevant and for the other 1%, I'll be glad to tell you via email.

I just found out that I got scratched by a school. The school is the longest drive for me and they always have early tip times as well. I admit I didn't have my best game last time out and think that getting scratched by a school isn't always a bad thing.

A couple weeks ago, I posted a thread about calling an intentional foul in the first couple minutes of my college game. The coach hated the call and I'm guessing that he called my assignor, b/c I was supposed to work there again tonight but got switched to another game.

So disappointed. That school was 1.5 hours away and in the middle of nowhere, in the part of my state that always gets the brunt of any snowstorm. Instead, I'm going 20 minutes for a 7 pm game. I'm devastated. :)

BTW, we're supposed to get an ugly mix of snow and sleet tonight!! :D

(Honestly, I actually am a little disappointed that I don't get the chance to go back and show that coach that I actually call a good game; but I'm glad I don't have to do it tonight.)

Chuck,

I was supposed to work a big confrence game with the school that scratched me on Friday night. I too was a little disapointed that I can't go and work a good game and show the coach that he caught me on an off night. I think there might be a possibility that he may see me come tourney time and I will be sure to treat both him and his team with the utmost respect and give them the best possible game that I can. I still won't miss the drive though ! :D
